Paul Johnstone

Paul Johnstone is a musician, composer and freelance educator from the Isle of Man. Paul gained his music degree at Dartington College of Arts, then studied Sound Engineering and Music Technology at Deep Blue Sound in Plymouth.

Paul’s professional music and education career includes composing music for theatre; running cabaret events; sound engineering; teaching sound design for theatre; music technology; guitar and ukulele.

In tandem with Paul’s freelance career he has also worked as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities for twelve years, working for Devon County Council and MENCAP. During this time Paul ran a successful music group for this client group for over five years and has experience offering music as a therapeutic activity to service users with complex needs.

Prior to Paul’s university studies he worked for ten years in the finance sector, the final two of which were spent working at Deutsche Bank in the City of London.

Claire Steer

Claire is an experienced choir leader who previously conducted the Northcott Community choir in Exeter. During Claire’s tenure as conductor the choir increased in size from forty members to over one hundred, performing regularly at charity and community events.  A musician from an early age, Claire originally trained as an Oboeist performing in orchestras at county level in her youth.

Claire also has experience of running a choir at the Community of St Anthony and Elias, a therapeutic setting for people with mental health illnesses. In addition, Claire has experience assisting and teaching music and drama sessions for children and early years groups.
